AVOCADO OIL
Did you know that Avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the fruit and not the seed? I use the unrefined and extra-virgin type that retains some of the nutrients that may otherwise be lost in the heat of the conventional extraction process. Avocado oil has great moisturizing benefits for the skin and hair that fights sun damage; reducing signs of aging; healing acne, psoriasis, and wounds; treating dandruff. Avocado oil is widely known for penetrating into the second layer of the skin (dermis) and provide deep moisturizing with its oleic acid and phytosterols. People who have a dry and sensitive skin type are usually advised to use oils rich in oleic acid. The lecithin in avocado oil helps boost collagen, and the antioxidant vitamin E along with pro-vitamin A carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin will enhance the skin’s natural antioxidant, and this makes avocado oil essential to skin repair.
